The following video tutorial outlines the steps involved in creating a Forest and an Activity.
To create an activity within a forest, follow the instructions below, alternatively you can find how to create a forest here.
Find and select the forest where the activity will take place. Use the Filter at the top of the list to find the desired Forest. For more information on how to use the filters in the forest list, please check here.
If you need to create multiple activities in multiple forests, please check section 1.2.2 Import Activities
Within the Forest project, the activities options are placed on the left side panel.
To create an Activity, select the "Activities" tab and select "New Activity"
To successfully create an activity, the user must fill out all of the required fields:
Name: Unique name or ID for the Activity that shall be used for identification.
Category: Select the type of activity from the given list. There are 3 main types of activities:
Valuation: Activity for forest measurement and valuation. Each of these activities includes a defined method to collect field data.
Harvesting: Activity for collecting harvesting information from the harvester machines.
Others: All the other activities shown in the list are based on a map to draw the forest areas where the activity is taken place. Field data input is for these activities is not yet allowed in ForestHQ.
Addtional Inforamtion (optional)
Status: activity status from a defined list.
Person: Activity assignee, this user will receive notifications.
Start date: Date when the activity has started or is due to start.
End date: Date when the activity has finished or is due to finish.
Send email reminder: Enable/disable sending a reminder email to the assignee
Send SMS reminder: Enable/disable sending a reminder SMS to the assignee
Send notice: Days to be sending the remainders before the end date
Notes: Custom information about the activity.
Press “Create Forest” to finalise.
Select the polygons to be included in this activity.
Use the map to select/unselect subcompartments.
Selected subcompartments are highlighted in orange.
By default, all sub-compartments are selected.
Zoom and click to select/unselect the subcompartments.
Highlighted in red, the user can check the number of polygons that are currently selected.
After the activity is created the user can find the activity workflow on the right-side panel
