FOREST MEASUREMENT AND VALUATION

2.2.1 ARBOREAL FOREST

Arboreal is the simpler and easier way to measure your forest. If you are not familiar with Calipers and Hypsometers, this is your best choice to measure your forest. Arboreal is the first application to make forest measurement accessible to everyone.

With this tool, you do no longer need specific tools or complex methods of how to measure a forest.

This tool is also recommended to forestry companies to simplify processes and improve efficiency, keeping the same accuracy as traditional tools.

Arboreal Forest is a third-party application that can easily integrate with ForestHQ. Find additional information below on how to use Arboreal when working with ForestHQ.

The app is available on App Store. To learn how to install and use Arboreal App. you can visit the Arboreal Forest website.

combine Arboreal Forest with ForestHQ

Arboreal Forest works easily with ForestHQ. The main items that you need to consider are the following:

Arboreal App Setup

1. Download and install the Arboreal Forest app from the App Store.

2. Make sure that the Arboreal app has permission to access your ForestHQ information. See External App Permissions

3. In the Arboreal App, create an account with the same email that you are using in ForestHQ. Approve to share measurements with ForestHQ – Treemetrics.

Let started with the measurements

You are now all set up to start using the Arboreal app. Please follow these steps every time you need to measure a forest:

  1. Create a "Measurement & Valuation" activity in ForestHQ before collecting data in the field. See how.

  2. After collecting your data with Arboreal Forest App, make sure that you assign the data to the right activity:

  • On the "Result" view, you can find the activity name on the top area.

By default, the app will try to find the nearest activity using GPS. If the activity name is blank or does not match the name that you expect, then click in the drop-down to find the right activity name.

If you cannot see the activity name in the list, make sure that you have completed step 1. If you still having issues contact Treemetrics' customer support: support@treemetrics.com

Note: If for some reason you forget to select the activity in the Arboreal app or the activity name does not appear, you can continue collecting your field data. After the data has been collected, you should send an email to support@treemetrics.com with the following information:

- User that has collected the data

- Date of the data collection

- Activity name where you want to see the data
