ForestHQ facilitates the import of inventory data, analysis and the view of the results in a interactive dashboard, where the user can filter and query the data.

You can import inventory data in the "Data Collection Procedure" section within a "Measurement and Valuation (Import XLS)" activity or in the ForestHQ Dashboard section
In ForestHQ Dashboard go to Inventory tab and press the "upload" button, as shown in the picture on the left.
3 types of inventories that are available to be imported
One line summary data for an operation.
Required information: Inventory name, Forest Name, Operation Name
Inventory information: Species, Planted date, Stems/ha, Mean DBH, Mean Volume, Top Height and Mean Height, Site Index and Yield Class for all the Operation.
One line per subcomponent summary data for an operation.
Required information: Inventory name, Forest Name, Operation Name, Compartment name, Subcompartment Name
Inventory information for each subcompartment: Species, Planted date, Stems/ha, Mean DBH, Mean Volume, Top Height and Mean Height, Site Index and Yield Class for all the Operation.
Single tree measurements measured within sample plots, transects of the entire forest.
Required information: Inventory name, Forest Name, Operation Name, Compartment name, Subcompartment Name
Inventory information for sample plot (if relevant): Plot ID, Latitude, Longitude, radius, stems/ha and species.
Inventory information for each Tree: stem ID, Species, Planted date, DBH, Volume, Height , date of measurement, crown diameter, grade, status, and coordinates.
Choose the option that better works with the inventory information file
ACEPTED FILES: csv (comma-separated values), .tsv: (Tab Separated Values). .xlsx (new versions of Microsoft Excel), .xls (old version of Microsoft Excel) and .ods (Libre Office)
Step 2:
Create template or use an existing template.
The creation of the template is to avoid the repetition in matching data from the file to forestHQ (step 3)
Step 3: Match the headers of the SHP file with the system attributes.
ADD FIX ATTRIBUTE VALUE
You can add a fix value for all the records in your SPH file. Press the "+" option to use this option
In the text boxes, the user can write a value that will be applied to all the records in the SHP file.
For example if the user does not have a Region Column, but is know that all the forest to be imported are in Munster region, the user can type "Munster" and this region will be applied to all the forest imported.
MANDATORY FIELDS ADVICE
Mandatory fields are listed a the bottom of the page. You cannot proceed until all warnings are clear.
DATA UPLOAD
Press "Create" to star uploading data.
When the uploading this completed a report windows will shown the success of the importing:
Green "Successfully created": Number of features that has been successfully created.
Orange " Already in the system": The features (forest, subcompartments and compartments) that were already in the system will not be imported. A warning is shown in orange. To replace features, the user should firstly delete them from the system
Red "Issues": Issues and errors are in Red. This indicates the number of features that has not been imported due to errors. Please review that the geometries are valid and no special characters are used in the naming
"Inventory List” brings you to the list of operations
When to use a template:
The file has the same header that the file used to create the template.
By selecting a template in the drop-down list, the system will automatically match the file headers with the system headers.
The user can see how the matching is done but not change it.
Note: By changing he headers matching when using a template errors will occur during the uploading
If all the matches seems OK, press the create button to continue.
